Magic

There is more to this world than we know of, and a large amount of evidence to support that fact. But just what is the nature of the true supernatural? The field is so littered with misconceptions, half-truths, and outright lies that it is difficult to tell what is truly the case. Although this method might be considered less scientific than others, we want to take as scientific of an approach to it as possible. This method could easily wind up a dead end, but it also offers quick, easy transformations and the tantalizing possibility of quick discovery. Magic does invite individual exploration, but please make a group effort. Doing so will make success benefit more people, and increase your level of safety.

Therianthropy

Therianthropes are people who turn into animals, much in the way that werewolves do. In fact, werewolves are lycanthropes, who fall under the category of therianthropes. The idea of becoming such a person by being bitten by one is apparently an invention of Hollywood. Much older and far more widespread accounts speak of wearing pieces of clothing made from the animal you want to be, becoming one by sorcery, and becoming one with a bargain from some spirit. Another variation of this is the Shamanic custom of totem animals, which actually is common to most shamans around the world. Several varieties of shamans are reputed to be able to take the shape of their totem animal. The Equine Dream Foundation is very intrigued by this possibility, and we have already begun research into it. If you would like to help in that research, please download this text file and follow up on some of the research topics listed in it.

Telekinesis

Studies have found cases of communicating mind to mind and knowing things impossible to know indisputably true, but while evidence exists for moving things with the mind, it is less definite. Could it be possible to rearrange your own (or someone else's) body using telekinesis though? Though the chance seems slim, it is a lead worth following up on, because if it worked it would be an extremely satisfactory solution for morphological freedom.

Sorcery

Good old fashioned witchcraft and wizardry has many tales of people being transformed. Could some of these tales actually have a basis in fact? If they did, could we uncover enough of the methods used to recreate them? This avenue of research would be basically split between potions and spells, but both work together closely enough to be researched at the same time. The first step here would be to find occurrences that are likely to be true, then those examples need to be researched thoroughly so we can find out just how they happened. Finally, we need a brave test subject willing to try it out after we've found out as much as we could.

Spirits

One common concept in the field of magic is summoning spirits, demons, et cetera to either do your bidding or to make deals with. This is perhaps one of the most likely magical methods, but it could be dangerous. The spirits may not be friendly, and they might demand too high of a price, refuse to help, or even attack us. Very careful research needs to be done before summoning anything!

Religion

Although mainstream modern religions don't have much to do with transformation, many older ones do. The ancient Greek religion, for example, was profuse with examples of gods and sorcerers transforming people. What if that religion was actually true? Another facet of the religious field is reincarnation. That, at lest, would be good to hope for as a last resort. We may find it worthwhile to consult with religious leaders who believe in reincarnation in order to find out how to make it most likely that we will be reincarnated in the forms we would prefer.
